Good Points:
I've owned this car for 3 years and it has been exceptionally reliable. It has an excellent service history - I have loads of old receipts and MOT's from my ownership as well as previous owners. There are also stamps in the original service book which is available.
eg, Cambelt changed at 100k, oil changed every 5 - 7k, new starter motor 2014, all new engine mounts 2014, new rear brake shoes 2014, anti-roll bar links 2015.
One key fits all and I have 2 keys for it.
It has VW Estoril wheels with 4 good tyres (2 continentals, 2 'landsails' - all with lots of life left and even tread).
It's lowered on a supersport kit -60mm - when doing this I put new lemforder top mounts and bilstein bearings on. I have also fitted 2 lemforder wishbones in the last year.
The engine runs brilliantly and has never ever let me down. It's completely standard apart from I deleted the EGR valve to keep the inlet clean. It's the 90 bhp AHU engine. Uses no oil or coolant whatsoever and never has.
Towbar!
Bad Points:
Rust. Mk3's love to rot seemingly and this is no exception. I have rust treated and painted parts of the bodywork (mainly the bottom of the doors and the arches) but this has started to come through again. The n/s rear quarter is matte red (it had faded beyond any T-cutting so I rattle canned it. The paint was matched beforehand note). The drivers wing has just been fibreglassed to get it through the MOT (Sharp edge, there is no fibreglass anywhere else on the car). It looks presentable if you don't look too hard, but please don't bother if you want a mint mk3, this one is certainly not. It's had some welding done underneath to a good standard before it was MOT'd.
The interior rattles a bit (door cards and dash). I just turned the stereo up (it comes with a CD player by the way!) but you may wish to sort it out.

Any queries please let me know!
Thanks,
Joe
