Right, I'm thinking of letting my Passat b3 go. Not desperate to sell as I spent ages looking for one and waiting for the right one to come up. But my wife's only got an auto license and we could really do with a car she can drive as well, so would be interested in a swap for a cool auto.
The Passat is really pretty cool.
It's pretty clean inside and out. A few age related marks here and there but other than one 5p size bubble on the lower section of the drivers door it's probably one of the cleaner ones out there. Interiors very tidy, no rips and no threadbare bits, no plastic trim missing, although it has the usual fragile b3 cracks in one of the switch surrounds.
It's slammed on a set of Jom coilovers recently with supersport springs and new top mounts, which give a great ride for such a big low car. Will go a lot lower, it'll sit on the floor with about an inch of thread left on the coils, but who needs to drag the off it?
Also comes with a spare set of coilovers and near enough a full set of spare lights
It's sitting on a set of vw bottle top alloys at the moment which clean up nice but could do with a refurb, and decent tyres all around. Rears are winter tyres.
Got a tow bar...
Engine pulls really strong, previous owner did the timing belt and water pump before he took it on a ski season to Austria which he did 4k in it round Europe. So maybe 6-7k ago. Also had new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder 6 months ago. Some time idles high in the morning but sorts it's self out when up to temp. I've put a new rear gearbox mount on it.
New windscreen last month due to a crack.
New stereo with iPod connectivity and new speakers in standard vw holes.
Generally been working my way through the car tidying it up and getting stuff to work that didn't. Only thing I haven't managed is the lcd clock on the speedo binnacle.
With it being a very early CL model it's got very little electrics to go wrong, manual everything other than central locking.
B3s are getting very rare and this is a very presentable example.
