I am Selling my Ascona A. I don't want to, but I need to. I have (at last count) 8 cars that all need work so this was the last in, and is first out.
1973 tax exempt 1600 manual with a weber 34/36 DGV carb. Engine is running, I have replaced fuel lines including copper line across tank and all rubber fuel pipes. Runs sweet but is in need of a tune up.
I have replaced -
- Spark plugs
- Leads
- Dissy cap and rotor
- Air filter
Welding.
Needs n/s/r quarter inner and outer repairing.
o/s/r arch repair at bottom.
o/s chassis leg swan neck needs a bit of work
as does the o/s sill and floor (not as bad as it sounds)
n/s/f door a pillar needs a patch.
rear axle spring seats need patching or replacing
Needs a good wire brushing underneith to get old underseal off and hit with some hammerite.
Other than those bits, the rest will just be recommissioning work.
Body work is straight but paintwork is rough. Ideally needs a full respray or just use it as it is.... (which was my intention)
Front tyres look to have been replaced recently, rears arent too bad but are old.
Interior is OK, needs a good clean. Tape player still works!
I have driven this car off my driveway, turned it round in the street and reversed it into the garage where it sits now. Can be driven onto a trailer or truck no problem.
