1970 HB Viva GT
Been modified several times in the past with 2.3 engines and 5 speed box etc etc
Now fitted with a C20XE redtop and Carlton gearbox
Engine itself is standard but has Yamaha Thunderace bike carbs rebuilt and jetted by Bogg brothers fitted on a Bogg brothers aluminium inlet
Megajolt ignition
Ashley 4 branch manifold
A one off steel sump made from a new cavalier one (the sump gasket is leaking slightly so my need re-sealing)
It's had a new cambelt and head gasket
The oil way in the head has been sleeved to cure the usual XE porous head problem
Suspension is new GAZ coilovers on the front with corsa lowering springs and adjustable platforms on the rear
Rear suspension arms are ploy bushed
Banded steels with nearly new tyres
Repainted a few years ago and had new front floors and sills
When it was painted it had new front, rear and side window rubbers, door seals and headlining
Interior needs finishing it has original GT doors cards but the rear quarter ones are missing so are the kick panels
MX5 front seats, the mounts are just pieces of box section as I was experimenting with seat heights before I made something nice
Bodywork is showing signs of living outside and being used all year round with some bubbling on arches, boot lid and one spot on c pillar near the gutter plus the odd chip but generally really good and really solid underneath has been covered in a thick coat of Dintrol underbody wax and inside sills cassis sections etc have all been cavity waxed
New heater rad gets nice and warm but only blows with the force of air as you drive because the blower motor isn't connected and I don't know if it works.
I drive it all the time in all weathers it starts runs and drives perfect (perfect for a '70s car anyway) if your used to boring modern stuff then brace yourself because this is bumpy loud draughty and fun just like cars should be
Unusually for a car of this era the carpets in this have remained bone dry all winter,if your used to classic cars you'll know how rare and how nice that is
