Evening all.
I have the opportunity to purchase a vintage automobile overflowing with gallic charm. However, i have a query about registering here in the UK.
The car has no carte grise, how does this affect a UK registration? Is there anything i should be wary of? Anything else i should be asking the seller for?
Its pre-60 so the remainder of the process should be simpler and there's an active owners club in the UK.
Cheers
Tony

i wouldnt worry too much about the lack of carte grise. they only take it as a proof of dating thats been verified by a third party. in this case, the french government. as long as you have someone who can give you a dating certificate, it shouldnt be an issue.
just make sure you get the sellers full name and address and get them to write you a full reciept with the cars chassis number on. you will need this for the NOVA declaration. i found the NOVA harder to do than the first registration form tbh, as its aimed at newer vehicles so theres lots of hoops to jump through that really don't apply to older cars, but you have to put something in the box or computer says no.

Cheers Dez, that's exactly the info I was after! Next step is to work out if it'll fit in the back of a van, then pull the trigger I think.
