SOLD / 01733 425140 / 07976 935046 / sales@kgfclassiccars.co.uk / Peterborough
A fabulous and enthusiast owned MGB Roadster with just 57,061 miles.
EQUIPMENT
Folding hood, tonneau cover, polyurethane bumpers, curved laminated windscreen, twin chrome door mirrors, rake adjusting seats, anti-burst locks, two speed heater, swivelling sun visors with vanity mirror, map pocket, lockable glovebox, radio, electric impulse tachometer, clock, oil, fuel and water gauges, electric windscreen washer, interior courtesy lamp, hazard warning lights, heated rear window, cigar lighter, trip and mileage recorder. Factory options; front spoiler. Dealer accessories; detachable rollover bar.
EXTERIOR
Finished in a very rare and vibrant colour only produced for 1976/77 model years called Chartreuse, (Code BLVC167) this MGB presents beautifully with a bright polished shine and uniform finish. All the panels are damage free and structurally excellent, but there are small paint blemishes. The polyurethane bumpers and trim sections are in fantastic order and the black hood has just one small repair section, very inconspicuous. All the chrome embellishments are shiny and intact and a detachable rollover bar and rear tonneau remain present. The under bonnet area is clean and presentable with rust protection paint applied in areas. A superb example of this classic fun sports car.
INTERIOR
The factory original interior of this example is clean, unmolested and just as the manufacturer intended. The pin stripe seats are clean and intact, although the material has become slightly stretched and the colour combination with the exterior is an acquired taste! All the controls, gauges and switches set in the perfect crackle finish fascia function correctly. A period radio cassette player fitted in the early 1980’s looks appropriate to the age of vehicle and is functional. The centre armrest is slightly loose. The boot area is big by sports car standards and very clean. A pleasant and exact MGB Roadster experience.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This four cylinder o.h.v engine with a five bearing counterbalanced crankshaft produces 84bhp at 5250rpm and offers ample performance for daily use. The tough, well proved ‘B’ series engine is a simple unit with brilliant access and fantastic parts availability, every classic car owners dream! The four-speed all synchromesh gearbox gives sporty performance coupled with good fuel economy. The optional electrically controlled overdrive makes long distance cruising a real pleasure.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The Rostyle wheels are in superb order with only faint markings. Matching Firestone F 560 185/70 R14 tyres have excellent tread remaining. The boot mounted spare is present and in excellent order. The hydraulic brakes with servo assistance employing discs at the front and 10 inch drums at the rear offer safe stopping power.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 11th August 1977, this low mileage example has led a cherished existence. The previous keeper purchased the vehicle in December 2010 from his next door neighbour who had enjoyed ownership since July 2001, only selling upon the passing of her husband. The history file boasts a large collection of receipts and maintenance invoices, which along with previous MOT certificates fully support the mileage covered.
MOT March 2016, HPI Clear, Approved Used Car Check Certificate.
