I'm already in a bad mood about today because i have to go into school to finish some marking.
Still It could be worse, I'll have a nice cruise into work with the windows down and some Hendrix wailing.
Then it gets worse.
Comming off the A27 onto the A3 on the way into school my exhaust falls off, its rusted through where it joins the back box.
Could be worse I think, so i hoik the back box into the boot and continue noisily on my way.
While at school I decide to see what the internal diameter of the exhaust is, plans forming to raid the metal store and bodge my back box back on with a insert into the broken section.
Out to the car I go, vernier caliper in hand. mesure the pipe, shut the boot ready to head back inside.
Then it gets even worse.
As the boot clicks shut the realiasation dawns that my keys are in the boot. ~ Copious ammounts of Swearing ~
Can't call swmbo because i don't have my mobile and i don't know our phone number!
Can't call the AA because I'm not a member.
Can't even break a small window and get into the car because the boot is separate.
A scheme forms to break int the boot. I don't want to damage the lock because they all match. So bearing in mind I have anouther cars for spares, and its white I decide to go through the boot lid. After all its held on with four bolts and shouldn't be too hard to swap over.
Chain drilling and cold chiseling:
I have a reach around inside and can't feel the keys. I head back to the DT block to find a torch. No torch to be found. I cant evebn find a bulb to make a light with just 1000's of red LEDs.
Then genius strikes, I'll dangle my camera through thye hole and take a picture!
Now i knew where the keys were i used the hammer I had out there to reach that area and retrieve the keys.
The Aftermath:
Is there anything Gaffer Tape can't fix?
Hopefully that should keep the water out until i can swap the boot lids over.
At least I can still drive it and get home so it could have been worse...............
