Model: Rover 827 Sterling
Year: 1995
Mileage: 71,926
MOT: 10 August 2015
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Price:£950 £850 £750!
Here's a Sterling that's not showroom condition but is in remarkably good order.
The engine (a Honda 2.7-litre V6) and gearbox (also a Honda unit, this time a five-speed auto) both work perfectly, with motorway cruises being relaxed and returning low 30s mpg.
Press the loud pedal and it accelerates surprisingly swiftly, certainly enough to upset your more reserved passengers.
Cruise along and you'll find the car loaded with kit, including cruise control, climate control, heated seats, a six-disc CD changer, and so on.
Amazingly, it seems like everything works. I won't quite make that a guarantee, as it's a 20 year old Rover and something may stop working this afternoon, but right now it's all good.
Faults? Not much on the inside, and not much mechanically. Only cosmetically is there an issue; the front bumper has dropped slightly, but is very firmly attached. The Sterling badge on the back had a replacement 'g' at some point in its life and that stands out a tad. Finally, some fool (not me!) added a 'V6' badge to the bootlid that looks awful.
Today there are 71,926 miles on the clock, although that will go up slightly as the car does get used. There's also an MOT on the car until 10 August 2015, so you've got a summer of worry free motoring ahead of you.
A low mileage Sterling with an MOT that's not a 'project car'? This is it!
£750 and it's yours. Feel free to DM me, email me at phil.huff@frontseatdriver.co.uk, or call me on 07905794303 (although I'm often unavailable on the phone, so I'd email first!)
