Sorry for the ebay thread, But cant seem to find an answer anywhere and being car guys, I'm guessing alot of us use ebay quite a bit. Ive listed a few things recently. Had no end of trouble, 11 listings, 4 non paying bidders with zero contact, and one who insisted i post even though it was never offered and the item was HUGE, He now wont cancel the sale, which means ebay still final value charge me. For another item that someone bid on abroad, Even though i didnt offer international sales, HAS cancelled the sale luckily, But ebay have issued a final value credit that i for some reason can only have as what is effectively a "store credit" with ebay. They said you can use it for future listings... (its quite alot) Surely seeing as the sale didnt go through, They should fully refund me the money? They only answer i can get from their ever so helpfull site is that the refund is complete. ? Any help appriciated guys..

Never had a credit always had FVC straight back in my paypal acct
Non paying buyers open up a resolution file state the reason ie no contact no payment
most will pay after receiving a email from Ebay once youve opened one up

I've had it usually happens when you get the final value credit AFTER the billing cycle i.e you've already paid. I would try to get to talk to someone in customer services about it to see if they can refund.
As a rule I never offer the buyer a chance to cancel the transaction I've been burned too many times once you send that link you have no chance of a final value credit as chances are the buyer will never bother replying. Far better just to go down the unpaid item route.
Send the overseas buyer a price for you to fly over and deliver it!

I can't answer this question but on a similar issue eBay are now starting to charge a final value fee if you end your item early (ie you've listed a car and sold it when someone's come to view)

I can't answer this question but on a similar issue eBay are now starting to charge a final value fee if you end your item early (ie you've listed a car and sold it when someone's come to view) Good. Winds me right up when I'm bidding on something then the seller ends it early. An auction is an auction, sold to the highest bidder. If you want to do a straight sale lthen list it as a classified listing or add a buy it now.

If you want to do a straight sale lthen list it as a classified listing or add a buy it now. I will end my listings early if someone shows up with the cash for something. The thing is there are so many people who mess other people around by bidding on stuff, winning it, and then you never hear from them again. This spoils it for all the genuine bidders I know, but because of the high amount of messers who infest ebay, you'd be foolish to turn away someone stood in front of you with the cash. I've always thought that ebay should take the money straight out of the winning bidders PayPal account and pay the seller, that way all the people who mess sellers around bidding on things with no intention of buying them would stop doing it.

That's why I said list it as classified. No buy it now to click so the buyer has to actually show up and pay you for the item with no messing about.
Classified works out cheaper with cars anyway. £14 to list, on for 28 days and no final value fee's.

i've been on ebay since pretty much the start, 1999 .I like them less and less with every tweak they do, but i have managed to get a car listing fee credit by using their online chat, because i cancelled a listing after a few mins because it wouldn't let me change the duration after I had listed it. So subsequently relisted.
