100% Reliable - always starts first time. I had been using it on a daily commute to Bristol, returning a genuine 32mpg on a 200 mile round trip.
However, on the M25 last night I noticed some steam coming from the bonnet and then the temperature starting creeping above the half way mark. Immediately pulled over, turned the car off and called the Green Flag. The radiator looks like it has a leak and is dripping. Got the car recovered back to my house (at a cost of £150), and now selling it as is, and as Spares or Repairs / Export / Salvage / Project / Donor.
Brakes and suspension are good, with no knocks or bangs. Slight leak from power steering reservoir and rocker cover gasket seeps oil on the left bank - common on the E38, but does not affect the way in which the car runs.
Smooth drive and a perfect motorway car.
A few marks, blemishes and scrapes on the bodywork (see photos). A couple of small rust blisters here and there, but it’s not the usual rot box! OSF fog lamp glass is cracked. Cleans up well and still a presentable car. Interior is in very good condition.
Not a brand new car, but certainly one of the better examples for this money and mileage. Please be realistic with you expectations - It's a 19 year old car with average miles. If you want a new one, go to BMW and pay over £50k for it!
Very practical and solid. Only for sale as it was a stop gap whilst I was looking for a 535d. New car has arrived, so it is now surplus to requirements.
Needless to say, it is sold as seen and as SPARES OR REPAIRS. No warranty is given and / or implied. The car has been described honestly and to the best of my ability. Any inspection / viewing is welcome and highly encouraged, as everyone’s opinion of an old car will differ.
