Greetings all!
I have had the Aero for nearly 4 years now and I thought I would start a thread detailing the story so far and my plans for the future.
The story so far.....
I bought my first Saab, a 1997 9000 FPT manual in 2008 and kept it for nearly 2yrs until the lure of a c900 became too much wherein I sold the 9000 and bought Daisy - '91 c900i vert,
www.uksaabs.co.uk/UKS/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=60424&hilit=daisy......
It is fair to say that it was not a success and before long I was looking for another 9000 and bought this to keep me going,
This was a 1995 2.3 LPT auto - it drove beautifully, but I had always wanted an Aero........
So I happened to talking to Giles at Abbotts and he mentioned that they had a '96 9K coming in Part ex.It had been tuned to stage one and had the full 3" Abbott exhaust! He faxed me the service history for it and when I totalled the invoices from the previous 3yrs it had over £9000 spent on it!!! At this point I asked for some photos, this is what I got,
So I organised a test drive - that was it I had to have it!
These are a few shots from when I viewed it,
So I took delivery of it a couple of days later and did need a few bit doing - mainly the paintwork needed a great deal of work.
So I bought the following items - Megs Ultimate compound, AG SRP and Megs Ultimate quick wax and made her look like this.
So what has been done in my ownership and what is to come? (total expenditure - not including fuel.......)

Well yesterday, was the day and this is what happened!
Left the house at 9.00 am - 'orrible, wet and blowy day!
First stop - Petrol station - gave the old girl a treat, full tank of Vpower!
Next stop Marshall Volvo Cambridge - 'misty jets' picked up, ready to be fitted later!
On to Cambridge Saab to collect the brand new steering wheel!
Then onto Leelac Saab - always an interesting place to visit as you will see in a moment!
Dawid had no less than 3 Midnight Blue 9K in stock so we spent some time choosing the best passenger front wing and then Dawid went about removing the 'new' wing and then removing the old wing (a swine of a job, so it seems)!
New wing ready to go on,
Old wing about to come off
Dawid hard at work
Whilst this was going on, I had a nose around the yard and it's contents - always worth the journey alone!
So what was there today;
1st of the 3 CS Carlys
2nd CS Carly
3rd CS Carly
A rather poorly c900i vert
Flat front 9K
Poorly T16S vert - low mileage
A clutch of poorly 96's
All in all a great day! Lovely to have a new steering wheel - what a joy!
Many thanks to Cambridge Saab and especially to Leelac Saab - Dawid what a gent!!!
