Its having a spare tyre and cover but not a wheel, got to build it yet though.
Its not going much lower, ive got the silly low thing out of my system now haha.
Slacker - it seemed to go down well. Quite a lot of people were stopping to look and trying to figure out of it was paint or vinyl.

After catching a few pics on facebook I've finally got around to checking out this thread . Definately one of the coolest things I've seen so far this year , can't wait to see how it progresses

Mk14dr sent me. I'm glad he did. It is the Kenny Everett of Vitaras. It turns me into Dick Emery looking through the pictures so far because (to paraphrase) oooh, it is AWFUL... but I LIKE it.

Unsurprisingly, I like this too. Since the top is staying white, have you considered painting the silver bits on the wheels to match? I think that'd be quite nice As for the "I've never had a nice car before" well you must be forgetting the one you bought from me...

The wheels are gonna be redone in the same colours but without the kerbing/scratches/unmasked brush painted black bit I think, might do a bit of stenciling on the spokes.
The Toad was the 2nd nicest car i've owned after the Carlton Estate and they were in pretty shoddy condition under my ownership. I think they both got washed once to paint them and that was about it. I've washed this 3 times in 2 weeks, and clear the interior out after every trip. Those who know me will know how much of a thing this is, usually the footwells are stacked with energy drink cans and fag packets.

I then wanted to start cleaning the interior as it stinks of wood (the material not the smell of a boner) best quote ever!

Not huge amounts have changed from the outside. Lots going on though. Firstly I binned the front diff and drive bits off. Only time this is going off road is onto a show field or beach so it wasnt needed. I also binned the power steering as it only worked when it was leaking (literally, if I stopped the leak it stopped working). Means a much better belt run for the 2nd alternator as a bonus. Next job - front end refresh. New ball joints, track rod ends, discs and pads and the traveller thicker oil shock mod along with a fresh coat of black on the inner arches. Went from this To this To this. Much better. I then made some speaker mounts out of a bit of worktop. Still got another speaker to put in them then they can be retrimmed. And then loaded up the Passat with a load of MDF Which after some measuring, drilling and screwing became this And a meaty port for extra lows. Got the rest of the sub box to put together then use some superman strength to lift it into the car, then more interior work.

Fantastic! That sub box will bring the back end down a fair bit by the looks of it! Still haven't rattle canned my car yet, although every time I see this thread I gain inspiration again. Just gotta make sure I've got enough money aside for my holiday in exactly a months time. And all my spare cash this week is now being thrown at a new ignition module. One day I will have an interesting looking daily...

Like the door pod idea, that's inspired as it gives you a decent form and doesn't weigh too much when all the speaker holes are cut out.

Another quick update, lots going on but not many photos. Finished the sub box (carpeted now) Wired it all up Added a extra battery And now it does this, still messing with the settings and got a few more speakers to add. And finally got round to painting the new tailgate and fitting it. The dent in the middle is hidden by the spare wheel carrier luckily can't find a perfect one anywhere.

Don't know why, as this just shouldn't be my thing at all, but I love this. The artwork is brilliant, as is the overall execution.
Good old RR opens another door in my little prejudices!

So there I was pootling up the M1 at 55mph minding my own business when bANG! a Audi TT on 2 wheels comes across the bonnet. Those are the tyre marks on the door. After a brief stop on the hard shoulder to assess the situation I advised her that we should limp both cars onto the hardshoulder of a sliproad about 600yds away. Driver of the TT was shook up, I was calm, these things happen right? She admitted fault straight away (her glasses fell off and she'd bent down to grab them and swerved into me) so I had a look at both cars and spent some time calming her down etc, neither of us were dead or hurt. It could have been much MUCH worse. Hers had a flat tyre on the front. Luckily she had a spare wheel so I jacked it up, removed the alloy, realised half of it was gone (there was a complete undamaged tyre, the face of the rim and lip but the entire barrel wasn't there, apart from a big chunk of it jammed in the brake disc). Unjammed that, chucked the spare on and then I drove it up and down the sliproad a couple of times and ascertained that all was well, apart from some caving in of the front wing and a slightly broken bumper. Mine had a destroyed rear tyre so I phoned my dad to fetch a jack and socket set so I could put the spare wheel on. And the damage this morning in the daylight. I was keen to avoid insurance curse word, which the lady agreed with so she's given me a chunk of cash to cover the parts and my time and I sourced a wheel and tyre for hers so she could get back home safely. So far i've sourced a straight door/mirror etc and a rear bumper. Just need to pick a set of wheels up from MikeD on Sunday and find a arch trim then with a liberal application of filler and more silly paint we should be good to go again. Moral of the story - be calm, be nice.
