Hi,
After selling my vauxhall calibra I was after something else to tinker with and have always liked the 190. So after a few weeks I finally found one local to me that had been stood for a while but had been owned by an old gentleman and only covered 59,000 miles. There's a few age related marks on the body but the overall car is in excellent condition and for what I paid I can't complain.
I've got a few plans and have picked up a 'big badged' grille for it aswell as some fondmetal wheels.
Sorry for the poor quality photos taken from the advert.
Been a busy day with the old merc today!
Basically there's so many little bits here and there that I've decided to go for a full respray in the original white although I did consider other options. It's booked in at a VW restoration centre next week which doesn't give me much time
Anyway started at 7 today and began to strip the car down bumpers/ lights etc...
Then I've had a mate round to remove all the car park dings/ dents and a company came and removed the front/ rear screens for me.
I also took delivery of a brand new front boer today (genuine) and all service parts aswell as a few new bits and bobs like badges etc.
Last but not least I dropped by a mates house to pick up my new wheels!
They are staggered 17 x 8 and 17 x 9 with an et45.
Hope you all like will update as things start to happen!
On my last car I never labelled the parts so it was a nightmare come rebuild time 'I'll remember where everything goes' haha lesson learnt!
These wheels are a good 15 years old so the dodgy chrome effect has starting flaking. With them been 3 piece splits I'm gonna to strip them (hopefully tomorrow) and have the barrels coated/ dishes re diamond cut and laminated before the faces get coated... Need to decide a colour.
