Price dropped!
Open to offers, try me, worst I can do is say no! No Part exchanges though.
Regrettably for sale, due to needing to free up some capital and because of a change of plans for this year. I would love to keep it, but I cant justify parking it up in a barn. It drives very well, as clichéd as it sounds, it doesn't feel like a 21 year old landie. I spent a long time looking and this was by far the best one we found, handles really well, and happily cruises on the motorway, it joins in really well with the modern traffic.
There are no knocks or vibrations, the gearbox is smooth and doesn't have any slop. It has had recent engine oil and transmission oil changes. The props and hubs have been greased with heavy-duty grease and have no slop or slack. The chassis has been wax-oiled its entire life and so is in exceptionally good condition, as are the bulkheads. The previous owner never took it off road and neither have I, during my ownership it has only done 2000 miles as it was bought as an expedition vehicle.
Bought from a life long classic land rover and steam engine engineer, he averaged 2500 miles a year in it, I bought it for an expedition to Europe/North Africa this coming summer. It has started to be prepped for this expedition; the majority of the work was carried out previously. It is a blank canvas on the inside ready for the next owner to fit out exactly how they want, I was going to do this, but never got the chance. Inside it the front seats have heavy duty seat covers, it is currently fitted with two folding bench seats in the back, both are almost brand new with belts. It has a CD player fitted. It was originally blue, but was resprayed approx. 10 years ago and the paint is still good, there is a couple of areas of where it has flaked, but no corrosion on the body. The rear bed is very solid, there is some dissimilar metal corrosion around some rivets, I have been told this is common, but it is only light.
In the last few years it has had brand new;
Heavy-duty 2’ lift springs front and rear and shock absorbers
Front turrets
Galvanised rock slider sills
Heavy-duty full-length galvanised roof rack with ladder
Snorkel kit
3mm heavy-duty military bumper
Diff guards
Reconditioned gearbox/transfer box
New Prop shafts front and rear
Very good condition 265/75/16 General Grabber A/T tyres
And much more, I have a list of parts from the previous owner, who did much of the work. The cambelt was fitted 3 years ago and has done less then 25,000 miles, it had new tensioners and idlers fitted at the same time.
The rear cross member is in with good condition with no corrosion, it currently has a chequered plate over it, which I’m happy to remove to allow an inspection of the cross member.
The injectors where replaced last summer, it is the original 300tdi engine and it runs perfectly, it has done just over 155,000 miles and been very well looked after. The underside is very well waxoiled and there is no sign of corrosion.
MOT till the end of November.
I also have a rear window security grill package, swing away and a spare general grabber, plus an assortment of general bits and bobs.
Based in East devon.
Asking £5750 ONO
If you need any more info, please give me a call on 07527957600 or drop me a PM.
Many thanks, James
