Went up to Boneshakers last night. Your friend was up there with his newly completed trackday/sprint orientated Beetle project. I was properly impressed with it and I like the fact that its not the usual 'Resto-Cal' or 'nostalgia' drag car look. It is obvious that a lot of thought and hard work has gone into it. Its a car built primarily for being used - for both going fast in a straight line and round corners ;D
Rainking - I just wondered if you had any or can take some pictures of it & post them up here for other fellow Retro Riders to see.
Spec as far as I could fathom to whet people's appetite is follows;
- Based on 1303 shell (as they use Macpherson struts rather than torsion beams)
- Safety Devices roll cage & 2X extreme (super touring style) Corbeau bucket seats + harnesses
- fibreglass wings and various vents
- perspex windows
- 2100cc Type 4 engine with Porsche cooling and twin 48 downdraughts
- Porsche (944 I think) Suspension and brake parts
