Thanks for the support guys !!! It's been a tough week . No plans to change the engine spec , it's been brilliant so far and there is plenty of power !! Mountune no longer make the Pistons we use so although the rods are ok I've nothing to go on them !!! To make matters worse Graham at Universal Turbo's has confirmed the front turbo is Badley damaged and the rear needs a service so the cost of 1K is another nail in the coffin for this year :-( Noble Automotive have been brilliant and offered me a full race spec engine which I can just about afford at 4k but it needs stripping and balancing along with the heads gas flowing , ARP bolts all new gaskets at a cost of 3K this I cannot afford so I guess this year is finished . Off away on holiday for a couple of weeks and I could do with the break !!! Will look again at the situation when I get back .
Thanks again for all the support it is very much appreciated , hopefully we can get her back to full health in the not to distant future . Simon

Doesn't really matter if nobody stocks or even lists the pistons, just get a drawing or spec to someone like CP and they'll make whatever you need. www.cp-carrillo.com/

Sorry to hear the extent of the damage, pretty bad what a small amount of metal can cause such devastation!
What's the cost of custom forged pistons, if you can get the cad drawings and get them made up?
Look forward to next year and get it ready for then. At least you have the f type for weekend drives.

Well we might have a cunning plan !!! Trying to put an engine together out of all the bits , will have to use the std ford Pistons so power will need to be capped at 500 bhp but hoping we can put something together !!!

Brilliant news, good to hear you can get it running this year. 500 bhp should be sufficient for the short term!

Glad you've had some better news and that you should be able to get up and running again fairly soon.

the only bugbear is having to completely remove and take the engine apart AGAIN when you do get some stronger pistons ?
or do you think you would scavange the parts for a stop gap engine, then build ultimate spec in isolation

just read the whole thread, what a great build. sorry to hear the motor let go. i'm also just about to start putting a 3.0 duratec motor together over the winter with forged internals , my pistons came from mountune and were made by JE i wonder if they are the same ?. what sort of boost are you running on your 3 maps and injector size.

that is very good, what turbo's do they run? a friend works at Litchfields so I see the numbers the GTR's pull quite often, they don't run that much boost really either, though are 3.7's (apart from the 4.2 stroker...)

Well I'm not sure how we have done it but we are all ready for Croft Time Attack Round 5 !!! It's been a real team effort and I'm so grateful too all the people who have helped out , Dave Baseley and Matt Walton at Jetstream for dropping everything and helping me get the broken engine out , Martin Noble for building 1 great engine out of 3 busted ones !!! Top job . Trevor jasper for mapping and sorting out issues last night ! My mate Peter Hings for taking the curse word constantly to keep my chin up :-) Kevin Jones who has always been at the end of the phone when I was ready to set fire to it !! Jonathan Machin for being a top mechanic and pretty much building the whole car , without his help be would not be ready !!!! My amazing wife Dawn Roberts for letting me spend a stupid amount of money on my hobby !!!! So many company's have helped out Universal Turbos , opie oils , Earls performance all did work for nothing to get the car back out on track !! I'm celebrating with a cool beer :-) roll on croft !!
