Apologies for the lack of recent pictures, here are a few of it when it looked A LOT better than it does now!
AGAIN I MUST STRESS THAT THIS CAR IS NOW FILTHY, FULL OF curse word AND GENERALLY LOOKS WORSE THAN IN THESE PICTURES.
h
Right so I bought this car April last year and immediately replaced the starter motor, thermostat, exhaust, radiator and gave it a darn good service. Has been serviced again since too. It has been immensely reliable but a few problems have cropped up recently:
- Seatbelts don't work in the front
- O/S Rear quarter glass was heartlessly smashed so is sporting a crude piece of perspex that isn't watertight! I cannot find replacement glass anywhere.
- There is an engine cooling issue. I haven't looked into it at all, could be nothing.
- Drivers seat bolster looks like it has been mauled by a lion
- Some kind of bushing / suspension issue - Fairly bad knocking noise when going over potholes / bumps with the N/S front wheel
- In addition the the O/S rear quarter the boot also leaks water in heavy rain.
- Cold start isn't great. Have to sit and rev it slightly for a couple of minutes
- Screechy fanbelt
When you tot all of this up and couple it with the fact that I have recently treated myself to a 205 gti I just have no money / motivation / time to keep her. Parking is also a nightmare on my road and people will complain if I have too many cars.
Good Points:
- 59,000 miles
- MOT until the start of September
- 4x winter tyres (remoulds) with good tread. 3x other tyres included with good tread
- Minimal rot
- Has been super reliable
- Comes with 4x new shock absorbers that I never got round to fitting.
Low mileage quirky car with lots of potential and only a few minor problems to fix. I would keep it if I had the time, money and a garage.
Must be collected by this weekend or will be going to the scrapyard!
Hopefully I have done this correctly?!
