I have come to realize I simply do not have time to run and restore this truck so sadly I have decided to sell it.
I bought the vehicle in September and I have used it daily and it has proven very reliable. Since I have owned it I have fitted new HT leads, new front pads and discs, new fuel pump and filter. I have fitted a new suspension strut, strut top mount, ball joint and drive shaft to the LH side front, obviously long term plan the other side will want doing as well. I have also fitted a new ignition switch.
The previous owner had the underside of the truck welded at great cost and this has been done very well. The top side of the bed has been plated and if you wanted to make the truck mint you would have to redo it. If, like me, you don't care what it looks like then there is nothing wrong with it.
The body is starting to show its age and there are rust scabs appearing here and there along with the usual dents and dings. The LH front wing has rusted through under the wheel arch trim so will want the wing changing in the end.
The rear exhaust silencer has been changed to a cherry bomb. This was hanging on with wire when I got it but it is now secure. However it rattles on the rear valance and axle which I find very annoying so if I was keeping it I would get another back box. These can be found on ebay for around £70.
The only other problem I can think of it is the starter sticks about once a month. You just have to turn the key a few times and then it will start.
This is a good solid truck that can either be used for restoration or just something cool and different to use as a daily work horse.
I do have a 'truckman' bed top thing that can go with it. Annoyingly somebody has hacked the top off the roll bar to make this thing fit
