What do people recommend for sanding, masking, wiping down of panels and cars prior to paint?
in particular brands (not all masking tapes are created equal!) and sources.
I'm no pro and not expecting a pro finish, or wanting to pay pro prices for supplies.

Pre clean panel wipe about 16 to 20 pounds a gallon depending on how the paint place is feeling. Tetrosyl I think is the usual.
I've used mirka, 3m and plenty of other masking tapes, I buy by the box full so no real idea of individual costs about 2 or 3 pounds a roll maybe?
Edit just checked current masking tape (which is quite nice) is branded Tesa
