Main info Daimler sovereign / XJ6 1 years mot 89,000 miles Chichester, West Sussex Pm me first please Offers in the region of £2,000 please. So the car, I bought it from a vicar in Essex last year, they are my favourite car in the world ever. Literally the series 3 is the pinnacle for me! I've had a few before but hadn't had one for about 5 years. I wanted very specific things, it had to be a series 3, it had to be a 4.2 (3.6 is horrific on fuel in comparison) and it had to be solid underneath. With this criteria I didn't get a choice when it came to colour! I wanted this for myself, I had no interest in giving it up but a business opportunity has come up for me and I need to put some cash in. I'm frustrated to be letting it go as it was a long term keeper for me! So, for people that know about jags, front balljoints have just been done and upgraded to xj40 items (sealed units). Gearbox mount rebuilt Fresh service for the mot. It was mot'd last Saturday local to me and apart from the mot tester falling in love with it he also couldn't believe how solid it was underneath. I'm so confident with how good it is underneath if you give me enough notice I can put it on my 4 poster so you can see for yourself!!! Be prepared for conversations with randomers! I can't go anywhere without people asking me about it / taking photos/ staring! It's really not the colour for the shy!! There are some negatives, please appreciate it's a 35 year old car made by British leyland!! Speedo cable needs replacing Rust coming through the rear screen at the bottom Few other little bits that can be discussed in person. I know how these cars are thinning on the ground now and I know how hard it is to find one solid underneath. Within the next few days it's going to appear on eBay/gumtree/ carandclassic etc and it will be priced at £2000 this is negotiable and I'd rather it went to an enthusiast who will do a build thread I can follow! As you've made it this far have some more pics!!

If you fancy a pre facelift W123 Merc, with a bit of cash your way then PM me. This is probably the only motor of the same vintage that outcools my Merc IMO.

Sorry, merc just isn't for me, at a real push I'd consider a stacklight but that would be a real push. Cars I would consider on p/x 205 gti S13 200sx Late non turbo escort van

Wow, fantastic colour!
From 1993 to 1996 I owned OGK 919V a 1980 4.2 Daimler in white over black velour. The interior was absolutely mint. exterior was way way above average. Wish I'd kept it!
There is nothing quite like wafting in a classic series XJ

Oh my, that is beautiful.
Primrose yellow? Arthur Daley anyone?!
I love these, and I am seriously tempted.
How is she mechanically? Are both fuel tanks / pumps working ok? Any issues with the engine or gearbox?
How much paperwork or history do you have with it?
Cheers.

Engine and gearbox are sound, really happy with them.
Fuel tanks, I use the right side tank as the left side gauge doesn't work. I'm sure the tank works as you can swap to it with no problems but ive only used the right side for 99% of use just to have the gauge.
Paperwork is far from extensive but there are some scraps, from memory bits like a water pump a few years back etc.
There are a few bits round it, mainly the paintwork is tatty. As you can see from the pics I work a mop well but I'm not a magician! Round the rear screen needs attention and the outer part of the seal has shrunk but does not leak at all. Washer pump seems to be playing silly buggers at the moment but as the pump is working it should be a simple fix, thinking clean the nozzle.
I'd strongly recommend coming down and having a good look and a chat!
Completely forgot (and suprised nobody has asked!!) it does not have a sagging headlining!!!!

Appreciate that. I'll try and touch base at some point this week.
Temptation is too hard to resist, and I really am a sucker for an old Jag. I think the wife will kill me if I drove this home though, even though she does love them (especially the vanity mirror feature in the glove box!).

Hope you all don't mind my first posts being a reply to this thread. I just wanted to say that I bought it and what a lovely machine 3hr journey home and never missed a beat i reckon i used about £40 in fuel. Ive already repaired the speedo, fixed the leaking exhaust manifold gasket and sorted the screen washers. I have a suspicious oil pressure reading to assess next. what an absolute pleasure to drive. forgotten what they were like. Update will appear here if your interested???
