I have an old kids bike,its from the late 30's.I need some pointers on websites or companies who specialize in info or parts to help me in my restoration,Its a Halford(s) brand,thats all I know.Where should i look,particulary I need to know what was chrome,what wasnt etc..Its just a black rusty frame at the min..

perhaps if you post some pictures that might help - Ive restored alot of old bmx's and to be honest ebay is the best place for parts alot of older frames where stove enamelled and the brightwork might been nickel plated- but pics first then we might be able to help.

I found a few old bike websites a while back when I was looking for info about my late Grandfathers bikes. A lot of the links no longer work but this one might be of interest www.cyclesofyesteryear.com/cycleshop/sparepart.htmIt would be interesting to see what it is, you say it was a Halfords brand, do you mean one of the brands Halfords currently sell or was it a Halfords own ? I didn't think they had been around that long to be honest. I find a lot of info by doing a google image search if I have a name, there is bound to be someone out there who has one ! |
