Well, why not change the engine but keep everything looking standard on the outside as I would? Each to their own, right? Top bombing on this, loving the DIY stripping and powder coating, must really help keep costs down. Back in the days of just passing my driving test it was always make the car look like something it wasn't with a standard engine ( standard escort/fiesta looking like a xr what ever ect) now its always the other way around, ive always stuck to the same vehicle make so old ford would have a modern ford engine fitted, but Triumph aren't around no more so it had to be another marque also not sure on the paint and wheels yet as they play a big part in keeping the originality of the car but I'm thinking a modern paint colour, there seems to be a lot of new shades of brown around at the moment as well cheers for the replies Eddie
