Hi chaps,
Ive just MIG'd together a steel sump for a project I'm doing. Its the first time Ive modified a sump, and sure enough the welding it together was simple enough. My only question is this.... should I paint the inside? I'm giving the outside a good going over with paint, and Ive given the inside a good scrub, but obviously the metal is bare where OE paint has been burnt off and what not. Should I paint the inside or am I opening a potential can of worms?
I'm envisaging the paint flaking off and blocking the pickup and all sorts of nasties. However, I don't want the thing to rot out from the inside. I know it will be covered in oil but.... I don't know! Any pointers?
