Have decided there is no way of mounting the spax on the rear conversion and the Robin hood shocks are just mini dampers with threads at the bottom, not good. Ordered these instead to use with the eibach springs

I had great success with this setup for notching rollcage tubes, food for thought.

Just finally caught up with this build thread. Fair play, that's an incredible amount of ingenuity and home-brewed craftsmanship. Impressed. Which engine have you settled with and how is it looking now? My V6 Allegro was started in 2007 and is still sat unfinished. I'm saving to give it to Retro Power to finish. Mine's a sleeper with as many mods as possible hidden from sight. I've converted mine to mk1 grille/quartic wheel and added some period accessories like an original centre console and even got a Britax accessory bull bar kit for it. Seriously, who bought a bull bar for an Allegro?

I'm moving house soon to a place with lots of garage space. I'll actually be able to have a proper work bench so may well invest in a pillar drill Everything so far has been done on my driveway, other than some of the fabrication being done at a friend's workshop. Would love to see some more progress on the v6 Allegro, especially interested in your rear radiator setup. I was thinking maybe you could make use of some mgf stainless radiator pipes? Just figuring out your rear coilover conversion, hope you don't mind me copying! One thing on mine which is taking some doing is the metro arb, are you putting one on the v6? I'm sticking with the vvc K series, my build is a pretty long read but this is a good place to keep a record of how things evolve. No engine in at the moment as it's easier to build up the inner wings without it, have to move the car in a few weeks too so keeping it light will help. My first car was a mini which had bull bars on the front, really liked them and I think they saved the car when I rear ended a vw golf after brake failure!

Jonny you should try and convince the producers to do a modded Allegro feature when your car is done, mine might be almost done by then too. There are a few others being built at the moment, all quite different. The only one with an mot so far is this 4x4 VP estate. Wide arch v8 Allegro built on a corvette c4 chassis Supercharged Jag powered grass track Allegro I think Colin has his Allegrat on the road too? might not be very modded but the paint just makes me smile!

Not half as good as the v8 wide body is going to look. This is it before it was painted. [/p]

The 4x4 looks interesting, what chassis is it on ? Both that and the V8 one look great. I really hope the V8 one is painted russet brown or another standard colour and that was just primer in the picture.

The 4x4 is a vitara underneath, I think they have got some chrome wheels for it. The v8 is still a corvette really. Have seen it painted white with a green and red stripe offset over the top, If I find the photo again I'll post it. Mines the only one still All agro Oh and Jonny's of course

Today was Allegro moving day, its going to a friends while I move house. It will then be going into a garage and out of the weather Made an A frame that bolts to the bottom of the subframe. All hooked up. Hmm it does sit nice on those wheels.

That's a nifty idea, might have to make a frame like that up for moving my Capri shell

Luckily it only travelled about 2 miles ~ 25mph and will be about the same again to the new place. The only thing we were worried about was any twisting but it actually towed really well. Allegros are 850kg standard kerb weight and this is totally stripped with no engine, suspension or anything just really the shell and rear beam so I'd say around 500kg tops. Had light board and number plate covering the original, legal? interesting thought, don't see why not your allowed to build your own trailor, drive wheels are off the ground. Braked? Yeah the handbrake still works, that count ? Just had to remember to take it off lol

Yeah, the capri's an empty shell with nothing up front at all, just the rear axle and she'll really. Can't weight more than 700kg

Well here are another couple of pictures of the progress on the Allgero bodied Corvette. Amazing. I don't think mine will ever look that good, on a better note though my Protech front shocks are on the way!
