So what do you recon is the best way to tackle this mess There's more underneath but the car is to special and old to bin so the repair is on when i can work out the best way to go forward.

That was from a scab? Jesus H Christ man As much as i love skodas I'm no specialist, but that looks like a hell of a lot of work to me. Are panels still around for those?

Easier said than done, but I would cut all the rot out and make up some repair sections then weld them in. If you have to cut too far into the bulkhead then you might need to brace it all before cutting

glutton for punishment?
i must get on with the scimitar really but the kids have kept me busy this week with half term holiday. Just need to get the handbrake sorted and its ready for its mot. Bit worried about the passenger seatbelt, it doesnt retract fully.

:)Good luck with it mate. I've never welded in my life but I've had Skoda's in far worse condition repaired. This car is a legend!

Cheers chaps,kids have kept me busy today so she is back under cover for now.Angle grinder with fine cutting disc ready for the operation next week !

good luck chap. hope all goes well. Gonna need it,that panel looks complex under there ! Its solid under the dash and feeling from under the skuttle it is also solid .More chopping will reveal the full story,i will post the exposed horror next week If i feel like annoying my tit of a neighbour then it could be earlier !! ;D
