This is the sad sale of my Daihatsu Hijet 1.3 PLG -
MOT til July
50k miles
Petrol/LPG
Located nr Halesworth Suffolk
£1500
I've owned this since 2011, It was over heating, a feature which came as standard. I replaced the head gasket, had the head skimmed, replaced a couple of slightly worn valves and ever since it has been perfect. I think i've only done about 10k miles in this 4 years as its nearly always been a second car.
The shell is very solid. I spent a lot of time underneath it preserving this with underseal and paint. The bodywork is also very solid, no rotted arches which these suffer from. It is however Ratty with pop riveted alloy arch extensions. Faded paint, dints, etc (character)
I've reversed the leaf springs at the back (hotrod style)((bottle jack Jig)) and the front has standard shocks with shorter springs. I have some shorter front dampers which I had made but turned out to be shoddy. I will include in sale. The Ride Quality on smooth roads is fine but speed bumps, country lanes and East London Pot holes are not particularly Fun. However i've driven it like this for at least two years. I also have a complete set of standard leafs and fronts I will include.
Last MOT I fitted a new back box (not cheap),
Its had a very recent New Prop shaft (recall) and is actually due into Daihatsu for a Fuel tank recall if you fancy a new fuel tank. (dependant on rust they will replace for free) I checked this with daihatsu last year and its still current.
Recent (500 miles) new plugs, HT leads, Air Filter, Oil/Filter.
In the back is a metal framed pullout bed with comfy foam mattress. I've had many a comfy nights sleep in the back and people are always surprised how sleepable it is. I will take pictures of this next week when i'm near the car.
Car comes with Very Rare 13" ATS Pepper Pots in 4 x 110PCD,
This is a economical little head turner when Run on LPG, I will be sad to see it go but I have a major Project going on which is going to eat all my spare cash/time.
These pictures are a little old but I will take more pictures when I am back near the van next week. -
