Ok, but courtesy costs nothing. Exactly, it's my opinion that the creator of this forum deserves the courtesy and respect that has been so lacking tonight. He locked a thread and said why. You decided to make another thread to moan about it. That was the mistake. In my entire time on this forum, no one has ever been as disrespectful as this to me: ^^parts cheeks, licks bum^^ Perhaps you should have shown courtesy that you so hypocritically asked for to the forum's members, administration and most importantly it's creator. If I were David, and I had just taken the personal abuse from you and heard that unnamed members were sending you PMs in support then this would be the night Retro-Rides ceased to exist. That thought might not bother you, but until tonight I was under the impression that others might.

Look....ive apologised a million times now but I'm starting to boil again. Please leave me to cool off and get back to chatting about cars. If it makes you feel better, you, darrenw and any other moderators should ask h/w to delete my account. I'm not apologising any more. Either leave the subject and delete/lock the thread, or just keep on at me. If you decide to do the latter, youre obviously out to wind me up. Please don't as i don't want anymore arguments ok? Cool.

It has to be said, That Scimitar is a fine looking` example. One of those cars that suits white.
I don't know where I thought this thread was headed but I wasnt expecting a Montego and Rover 213 to show up. They look good, though, speshly the Rover.

:)I can't remember the last time I saw a 213 on the road. Last one I MOT'd I pulled one of the rear seat belts out of the inner arch into the car still attatched to the bolt!

fugg me that rover is top stuff! my dad had one just like that but red. for such a funny little low spec vehicle i was always amazed by the fact you got real wood, electric windows and stuff all for not a great deal of cash.
at one point we had a rover 213, a austin montego and a mk2 fiesta. wtf where my parents / oldest brother thinking! soon after we exploded into serial car ownership, mostly retro and un desirable!

Went for a walk the other day though a few back alleys where I live and found an immaculate F reg 216 round the corner. Never knew it was there. They really need to be saved before they all die out!

Saw a C-reg 213 in service the other day. First time in a good 5 years. I`ve been in the motor trade for 4 years and never encountered one, even as an old part ex. I think now is a good time for us to see this lovely Reliant Fox. Its steam powered apparently, find out more at steamcar.net. Isnt it a cute little thing?

*Disclaimer* It's taken a while for me to compose this and I'm aware that it may be construed as an attempt to restart this whole diabolical episode, but I feel that certain things need to be said, and I'd like all forum members to take those things into account. I don't think that any of this should have happened, and I don't want to miss the oppurtunity to say why I don't think it should happen again.
Steve, any administrator could have deleted your account at any time...the fact that they didn't is a testament to their fairness. I'm pleased you had a good day with your family, so did I and like you my family are more important to me than cars, I hope you weren't suggesting anything other than that with your earlier comments. I don't feel that anybody was judging you for spending time with you family.
Truthfully, this forum is as good as it is because we keep the off-topic chat to a minimum - not too upset you personally or to somehow detract from what sounds like a lovely barbecue, but to keep the forum the way it was intended.
As much as I try I can't think of a reason that locking a thread could be more offensive than a reference to me parting HotWire's bum cheeks and sticking my tongue in. It's a shame your not feeling up to any more apologies because I feel I'm most definitely owed one.
Like it or not, a heirarchy exists on this forum. I feel it should be respected a great deal more than it has today. In future, if any of the apparently large number of HotWire-haters would prefer to air their greivances a little higher up the ladder than to one of our newer members, then they are welcome to send me their PMs instead, I can't promise that I won't stick up for HotWire if he's in the right though. Hopefully that won't lead to bum-licking insults when you don't like what I'm saying because it doesn't suit your opinion.
Steve, I don't have a way of ending this whole sickening affair aside from you accepting what has been said all along. The fact is, that we don't generally like off-topic subjects on the forum....if you don't like it then you can leave, that's not intended as a threat, it's a mere fact. Even if you insult me, David or the other members who have worked this way since it's inception in February 2004, those facts don't change.
We all use the forum, but when it comes down to it HoTWire's opinion outweighs everyone elses. Why does that keep getting seen as a bad thing, as a opposed to the reason we should treat him with respect. Each time you see a cool picture, receive an answer, learn something new, make a friend, get a great deal, sell something, buy something or anything else done on, or as a result of this forum HotWire has had a small hand in making it happen. I simply can't see that as a reason to slag him off.
