Evening chaps.
Not retro, but lugs around retro parts at least
I have a 2002 Peugoet Expert 2.0hdi. Solid as a rock and super dependable apart from niggling little things. This year I have a stack of mileage to put on it taking my shells for dipping, parts collecting (possibly a couple of euro runs) etc etc. it's a cracking van with tons of power so I'm trying to stick with it if I can, at least untily retro van is finished.
The only problem on long runs is the lack of a 6th gear, doesn't not from an mpg point of view just comfort. My question is are there any 6spd boxes that'll fit from later models? I noticed that some diesel 407's have 6psds, but are 2.2's. As long as they bolt up and flywheel/clutches fit, things like mounts, linkages and even driveshaft work isn't a problem. Hell, if the 2.2 engine and box combo will fit I might look for a donor car.
Any help appreciated guys, can't find much forum/owners club wise for these vans. Oh, and any info on better brakes...
