Hi all,
So I repaired the perished fuel filler pipe on the Victor today, all went pretty well - it was a simple task of removing the old crumbly rubber pipe that connects the tank to the metal filler pipe - and replacing it with a new piece...
It turned out to be a 2 man job in the end, as its a tight squeeze to get the metal filler pipe to line up with everything once the new, stiffer rubber hose is in place... But overall, not a complicated job.
Now, on the 15 minute drive home this evening, I got a strong smell of petrol inside the car - so much in fact, that I had to stop and check that I wasn't leaking petrol anywhere - which I wasn't... No leaks anywhere - nothing broke when I replaced the pipes, I'm stumped!
I was planning on driving the hour and a half to Billing tomorrow, but I'm more than a little worried that a boot full of Petrol vapour and old electrics might get the better of me...
Has anyone ever had this before, or got any tips? I really don't want to take the daily tomorrow, but I don;t want to pass out from fumes either...
Thanks in advance!
Matt
