* searches for chisel and 4 pound hammer Me and Street recently removed the entire front end of an Escort with wood chisels and hammers. It was painful.

We spent most of yesterday 'removing' a totalled body mount bolt on my bug with a variety of drills, chisels, hacksaw blades and all the tools I could find for the dremel. It's sunk into the bracket y'see, and made of some incredibly strong substance.

cut the hedge then put my back out. Spent two hours practially unable to move, rest of the day simply in agony. All Ibuprofen'd up now. Next job was to deal with the Oldsmobile window winder cranks so I'm behind - again!

Ive cut the front end off an allegro using a bolster chisel and lump hammer. Took ages and really REALLY hurt. I overran my lunch break at work by 2 hours. Nearly new front panel tho so worth it.

Removed the drivers wing on JS's donor Mk1 'scort with bare hands! To be fair it was as rotten as sh1te in the pillar and valance. Did look impressive tho Dispatched the rest of the car with a combination of a 4.5" and a 9"grinder, hammers and chisels. On the subject of cheap grinders I usually keep a couple on the go in the workshop, so when one packs up you can still finish the job

Mechanic's rule #1... If the car works, anything left on the floor after you finished wasn't needed in the first place
