MOT September 2015 and comes with good service history. Last service April 2014 at a cost of £230. No idea about cam belt unfortunately. I have tried to put 13 pictures on here but for some reason they haven't added to the advert. Could you please advise by PM on how I download pictures and I'll do it ASAP

MOT? History, inc cam belt? Pics? Ta. I'm pretty certain that these M30 'big blocks' are chain driven, so no cam belt to worry about?

Indeed, you're correct , from a quick Google search. I'm a vintage Merc man, other than the odd dip into E30 land and assumed they were belt driven.

You say you have done a lot of work to get it to this standard... Can you provide a detailed breakdown of the work you have carried out in your ownership?

Throughout my ownership, I have had the car thoroughly serviced which it was in real need of.
The cleaning operation alone took a while to remove all the old leaves & other gunk etc which had gathered over the years.
During the service, the oil was changed, all filters etc as well as the spark plugs.
Wheels taken off and repair made to a noisy front wheel.
There was surface rust at the bottom of the off side rear wheel arch which has now been taken back, repaired & sprayed and there was also a rust problem at the bottom of the front passenger door which again has been repaired and a new rubber strip fitted onto the bottom with waxoil underneath.
The boot struts were shot which have also now been replaced.
The engine had a misfire which was looked into and the distributor cap was replaced which solved the problem.
The plastic tube coming off the air flow meter had a slight crack which caused it to overfuel so this too has replaced.
The exhaust was loud and had to be repaired and the sound now is much improved since repair.
The only thing left to do really is the instrument cluster.
The battery is dated 2011 as is fine.
The spare tyre is original from 1988 and has never been touched.
The car now is ready and trouble free

Somebody else told me that the wheels on the car are not for that particular model. They were already on the car when I bought it so I wasn't aware they were not standard when I bought it. I quite like them though.

I quite like them though. They are the 16 inch 'Turbine' alloys from an E39 5 Series. Although they fit, they may need spigot rings otherwise they can cause a wobble between 50-60 mph. This is due to the fact that the E39 (and E63 6 Series) have an odd hub centre bore of 74.1mm, whereas most other BMWs are 72.6mm. A set of 15 inch BBS cross spokes would set it off nicely, or of course, a set of genuine Alpina rims from a B10!

The car is fine when driving at 60mph so the non original wheels mustn't affect the car. I love the wheels personally and they are in great nick too! I went to work in it today to give it a little exercise down the motorway and a gent beeped his horn on the M6 at Wigan giving me the thumbs up about the car. Still a head turner at 27 years old!!

They may well have had spigot rings fitted to alleviate the wheel wobble. They are fantastic cars, and like Mercedes of the era, very over-engineered. I love the 'shark nose' style front end on these. I would also have given you a thumbs up if I had seen it on the road! All the best with the sale - hope she goes to a good home.

One of these sold for £1700 on eBay at weekend and was not even in the same league as this old dear! It had 30,000 more miles and was not as elegant but I suppose anybody selling a car would say that. Getting rarer now these old E32's compared with even 12 months ago & prices are on the way up. I don't mind at all if the car doesn't sell. I'll continue to take her out twice a week & even show her at the Tatton Park show in August as there was only 1 BMW on show last August which I thought was a terrible shame.
