Surely location is immaterial with a car as unusual and unique as this? It's not as if you're going to find one nearer you.

Bought a Landrover from Glasgow few years back. Plane ticket from Birmingham was about £40 then a lovely drive home in the snow....Can't beat a good road trip!

Echo the sentiments about distance.....bought a scirocco blind off ebay for £450, £17 train ticket London to Lincolnshire and a great 170 mile drive back. Got 5 years out of that car, hassle free, just servicing, cv gaiter, a water pump and exhaust in all that time.
Anyway, I am waffling. Great looking car, GLWS.

Yes but as said, plane ticket about £40, you don't HAVE to drive it both ways, or indeed either way if you don't want

Well it is as it's a 1100 mile round trip, and that's without viewing it beforehand. I've done that in a day in a Triumph Dolomite (with a couple of friends to share the driving I admit). Man up. Worth it for something as unique as this.

Well it is as it's a 1100 mile round trip, and that's without viewing it beforehand. Sorry that's just rowlocks. An excuse. The seller sounds reasonable, I'm sure he'd video/photograph it to within an inch of its life for you and email you the results. Someone on here would view it for you. It's obviously pretty well known in the rod and custom fraternity. I reckon it'd cost you £450 or so - at the very most - to have it transported. The price appears to, at least some degree, be negotiable. Nobody is going to travel 1100 miles to view it and go home, then go back to drive it home. Many people on here, myself included, buy and sell cars dearer than this without ever leaving their living room. If you want it, make it work. Don't make stupid, meaningless comments on the chap's advert.

But please don't be hypocritical, as you are also writing meaningless comments on this advert.

hi...i travel up and down the country to get what i want...theres a better choice down south for the type of thing i like...i flew down to brighton to buy my impala...i drove with the missus to ipswich to pick up my T4, rented a trailer and landrover to go to hull to pick up my pop...i also delivered my model A pick up to newcastle docks, when it went to holland, drove my anglia estate to sheffield and swapped it plus cash for my mustang...bought my frontera in scunthorpe...picked up my hb viva estate in york.. i got the train to bradford to buy a delica,it was a heap ,so i got the train back..i flew to birmingham to buy a pop,but found it had been built around a guy that was a different shape to me..i couldnt get in it..lol..so back on the plane... the list goes on..
if you really want something distance is no object...john has been offered another car locally, and its the only reason ,hes thinking about changing it...he goes everywhere in it...it will be at the cumbria hotrod and hills run in june, and the hotrod drags at stratford upon avon in july if it doesnt sell...
his phone number is there...10p can answer all your questions...AND agree on a price ;-)
cheers...al
PS..the chop was done by the same guy who did the black chopped volvo 244,that was on here [SEW 244 K](i think...the guy is an upholsterer to trade hence the sew reg)..he must love chopping more doors lol

if you'd take £2500 I'd book myself a flight to Glasgow. just factoring the costs of collection as it's 400 miles from me.
what do you say?
