I haven't seen any pics of your hotrod before I don't think.
I think you probably have, I've put a few up lately, although none of the cars in my latest post are my Hot Rod. I thought that I would post it as it goes, so that its in some sort of order. Anyway, what I can tell you is that it's not a coupé, it's this one from the Hot Rod threadSeen here during construction. Bit of a spoiler I know, but we'll get to it at some point in the year.

Sounds to me like you need to swap just to scratch an itch you didn't know you had. I'm curious to know what car you DIDN'T already know about..

I've been asking around and I don't know anyone whos had one of these things, and infact, most of my friends had never even heard of one before! Anyhoo, tonights mindless babble comes as a further update of this... Well, not actually this ^^^ but it's all part of the story... Episode 122. Budget Hot Rod. (Part 2).

If you squint really hard the Perodua could be a London cab in miniature...

Not retro related but a hope to save as many images of as possible. CD-Rs and CD-RWs have a lifespan due to the way they store data. Depending on what material is used in the construction of the CD-Rs you used, average life span can be around 10 years if stored out of direct sunlight. There's more information here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-R#LifespanJust thinking, if you've got a huge stack of CD-Rs with images on you don't want to lose then the best time to try and recover them is ASAP.

Ooh Nath ... Good guess! Wrong obviously, but a good guess! I'd really quite like one. Every night I walk past this one and hope that it's wearing a for sale sign in the window, but it never does, yes, I've left a note lol. I had a girlfriend who drove one of these about twenty years ago when I was five stone or so lighter, it was a squeeze then, goodness only knows how tight it would be now, but I'd still quite like one, and for that matter I'd like a Honda Beat too!

Well Nath if I do ever get my hands on a that little Cappuccino, or one like it I will make sure to tag you when I start a post about it. I wouldn't say I won't get one, but I think I need to get out on my bike a bit more to be in with a chance of squeezing my luxury bodywork into the tight confines of it's cockpit! So, as I still currently have the Mini, tonights little update is about the Hot Rod build, or atleast, the build up to the Hot Rod build... Episode 123. Budget Hot Rod. (Part 3).

Friggin hooked on your hot rod tale already! Never been keen on them myself, however now.... damn you man! Lol shall eagerly await the next episode. The pick up is a clever way around the chassis length business, like it. Also, I'm now looking at kit cars etc.

Friggin hooked on your hot rod tale already! Really? I was wondering who was reading it as it seems to be quite unpopular... Not that I would call my blog popular really anyway, I guess the problem might be two fold, firstly, my writing, or perhaps writing style is not good, and secondly, I guess I don't really publicise it. I have a friend who started a bog about makeup around the same time as I started mine, as she works in a department store selling the stuff. I would say her blog is not a massive success in the grand scheme of things, but she gets about ten times the hits that mine gets. It only goes to prove that makeup is more interesting than motoring... Sadly as little as I know about motoring, I know next to nothing about makeup as I rarely wear it... Unless I happen to be drag racing, and then it's all part of the rules! Therefore I guess I'll just keep to motoring, um, and cycling, which is even less popular, with the majority of those reads being less than twenty per post... Oh well, never mind at some point I might write something that is interesting to someone. Besides which, someone once told me before I started writing my blogs, that I need to write them like I'm writing an entry in my private diary that nobody will read. She said you're writing for yourself, for your own enjoyment, if someone else reads it and enjoys it, then thats great, but be prepared for nobody to read it. So thats how I try to write, and actually I quite enjoy writing them both if I'm honest, and like my friend said, it is pretty cool when other people read it too. Anyway, I often find myself wondering if I could do it better. When I first starting trying to write I started with the 12 Cars In A Year saga , and looking back through it now it was pretty wooden at the beginning, and honestly I wonder why any of you guys took the time to carry on reading it, but you did, and by the end I think I was writing it better, a point that was echoed by some of you guys who said stuff like... Your story telling skills have grown enormously over the course of this thread of yours and it's becoming more and more interesting to read, I don't want it to stop! Pistonpopper - I have just spent the last 4 and a bit hours reading this from start to finish. In my defence I didn't read every post, but as said the whole thread has got better and better throughout the year. It has been like a good book an absolute page turner. Been reading this for the last few days at work, without question the best thing I've read on the internet in many years Found this yesterday and have now lost best part of a day to catching up. So well written. A lovely idea followed through with style and humour. A thread that represents the best or RR. I was quite grateful for these comments, as it kind of spurred me on, to read that anyone is enjoying your work really is quite a confidence booster, as I've said before, you guys commenting make the thread enjoyable, you really are as valuable as the story teller themselves. Likewise, seeing how many people have read my blog posts, is quite a boost to morale, you may not comment, but knowing that someone has taken five minutes out of their busy day to have a look at what I have written means a lot to me, so thankyou all, I really do appreciate it. So back to the Hot Rod. Over the years since I built it I have been asked by literally hundreds of people if they could read about it's build somewhere, or see photos. I put an album up on farcebook once, and quite a lot of people were interested in looking through the photos, and I got a lot of 'likes' from my friends, and co-workers. So I was quite surprised that when I told everyone I was writing the whole story from start to finish on my blog, that there has been very little interest so far. In fact, the most interesting thing I've written about lately would appear to be the Mini One, which was also a surprise to me! So why is there no interest in the Hot Rod? Well, I guess for a lot of my friends this is old news, they've seen it, done it, bought the T-shirt so to speak, and moved on. I also think that as this happened over two decades ago, it's not current, and so that in itself loses some of it's appeal, you guys, despite reading about it in installments, know pretty much how the story ends, you just don't know the middle of it. It's almost like you've bought a book, started reading it, then thought you'd just have a little peek to see how it ends, and so read the last couple of pages. I know for myself I've done that on a couple of occasions, and to be honest, when I do that I never read the middle of the book, it loses its appeal as I know how it ends. Anyway, that's one of my theories. The other one, and the one that I really believe is why I'm not getting many reads is that it's just not written very well! I think that this is again, because of the time difference between doing it, and writing about it. I am writing it from memory, old photos, and notes I made during the build, then taking these ingredients and trying to pad it out into something that might be interesting enough to read, but it probably comes across as a bit dusty. I am however hoping that much like the 12 cars in a year tale it will improve as it goes on as I get into my stride, but only time will tell. No matter what I will still attempt to put out one post a week about it until the tale is told in its entirety, so please bear with me! Lastly, actually not, second to lastly! Like I said before, I don't really publicise my blog(s) as I do feel that writing a blog is like having a big pen15, great to have, but not everyone want's it shoved down their throat. I really only publicise it here, as we all enjoy reading about car stuff here, because thats why we come here right? I'm not really on farcebook properly, I kind of share Mrs Pistonpoppers page as I took a break from all the bitchyness, in-fighting, and pointless drama of it all. I have however lately been thinking about re-joining in order to publicise... Crikey, that sounds a bit parasitic! I am on Instagram though, but I don't really know what I'm doing so I go from posting a lot, to posting nothing for weeks on end! So I guess what I'm asking is, if you do enjoy my pointless views, share the love, tell your friends, click the link thingy to put it on whatever social platform your choice is, that would be great, and so helpful. If you don't like it, and by that I mean my writing style, rather than how it's laid out as it would appear I have very little control over that. But if its the way I write that you don't like, and you think it could be better somehow, tell me. If you can advise me how to make it more appealing to read, I would love to hear about it, as the better it is, the more people might want to read about it, so everyone would benefit in the end. Lastly, and going back to the 12 cars in a year thread... Congrats Mr PS. You are a star. Now write it up as a book. Well, thats not the first time I've read a comment like that, in fact there were several comments like that during the thread its self. Added to that even though I'm not getting many reads of the Hot Rod posts I have still been asked a couple of times if there would be any chance of it becoming a book. Well, I'd be lying if I said that I had never thought about it. I have thought about it, I've thought about it a lot. But the one question that always sticks in my mind about doing a book is this, who's going to buy a book about something that you can read for free on t'internet? Added to that how would it be better, and how much would it cost? I'm guessing a big book full of photos and text you'd be looking at at least £20, which brings us neatly back to the original question about who's going to buy a book about something that you can read for free on t'internet? When I go to autojumbles I often come across this old(er) fella who has published a variety of motoring books off his own back, they were obviously not a huge seller as he has stacks of them that he sells at a hugely discounted price, I don't want to be that fella. I guess the way around this, and in fact a way to gauge interest would be to start one of those funding type pages, so people who were interested could chip in to help bring the product to life. But I'm not sure I'm all that into doing that at this point as I believe that whoever runs the website that hosts it is who the real winner is here. I reckon someone is getting rich and fat off these funding websites, and it sure as heck probably isn't the person who's trying to raise the funds! Anyway, thats probably more than enough of my whinging for now, but I would like to say thanks to all you folks who take the time to read my stuff, I really do appreciate your time. And I am hoping to bring you another Hot Rod update early in the week!

There is another option, In my case, knowing it’s a 20 year old story and that it is being told over a number of episodes, I don’t feel rushed to catch up on the story... so can read at leisure. In fact, that’s probably true for all of your episodes, On here I try to catch up on the threads often, as certain threads can get fairly leggy, when you wrote the 12 cars’ I’d check in a day later and there would be another post and replies Now the posts are broken into easy episodes that I can leave until a suitable time, and if I comment it would be on here. Anyway, an enjoyable read, looking forward to the next update
