I'm interested in a motorbike - i've been after one for ages, one's come up & I WANT it!
AnywayZ, it's a 1987 model & was imported from what is believed to be the states on the 28th January 1998. It has a form entitled 'Motor Vehicles Brought Permanently Into The United Kingdom' this was issued be HM customs & excise. The importers name being AGB motorcycles of Southport. Also, it's got a certificate from 'Classic Services' declaring the year of manufacture - this was dated 18th March '98.
It's believed that the bike wasn't actually registered before coming to these shores, although I can't guarantee that!
What i'm worried about is the time elapsed from the offical import date & if/when I go to register the bike a few months down the line. From what I can gather it's too old to require a SVA... Anyone know the procedure & problems i'm likely to encounter?
Any help with this would be skill! ;D
Applies to cars as well I guess!
