Originally planned to sell this in the summer before my emigration to the continent but work have offered me a company car so this is now for sale earlier than planned.
Below is a pretty decent description of the condition of the car. I've been as honest and complete as I can to the best of my knowledge so here goes:
Good bits:
119k on the clock. Averaged 6,000 miles a year since new. - Now 120,300 odd as new company car has gone in for repairs whilst this keeps on going
Stock and original. Even down to the original registration plates.
Starts first time with a new battery last year.
New Bosch alternator fitted Jan '15.
New Timing Belt and kit fitted Nov '14 @ 115k miles.
Tidy and clean interior. No rips, tears, non smoking and pet free etc...
Desirable Quattro spec rear heated windscreen. Fitted at a cost of £241.50 on 10/07/09
5 Original factory 5 spoke alloys with 4 centre caps.
GoodYear EfficentGrips on the rear have done about 3500 miles, fitted new in Dec '14 at a cost of £132
5mm on the front. - Budget brand
New Rocker cover gasket Nov '14.
I've also replaced oil temp sender, coolant temp sensor and the ECU coolant temp sensor Dec '14.
Serviced with plugs, filters, oil, dizzy cap and rotor @ 118,453 Dec '14.
New O/S track rod end and 4 wheel tracking and balancing done in Nov '14.
Alpine speakers in place of OEM. Pioneer Cassette head unit (I plugged my phone in via a cassette adaptor, included with car)
2 Keys.
Coolant changed Jan '15.
Audi built the 80 with a galvanised body.
Paint work feels and looks lush and full aside from usual car park door opening dings... nothing out of the ordinary for a 20 year old car...
35-37 mpg on a run.
Factory sports suspension so 20mm lower than stock. Reasonably firm but not excessively so for a daily driver.
All parts fitted above have a receipt from the local garage who did the work or from GSF/EuroCarParts if I have done the work myself.
Not as good bits:
Usual car park dings in the paint from careless people opening doors, nothing out of the ordinary for 20 year old car.
Fuel gauge is erratic. Reads correctly for a few miles, then drops for a few miles and corrects itself a few miles later. Audi forums say I need to pull the speedo and tighten two screws on the gauge and voltage stabiliser on the rear of the cluster. I've not been bothered by this so left it as is.
Engine has a little tappet noise when cold.
Front wings are showing a little bubbling where the mud flaps meet the wing. Common spot on 80's. Otherwise solid.
2 of the factory alloys could do with a refurb if you're fussed. Paint is flakey. Other 2 are pretty solid. Spare 5th alloy is missing centre cap but ok.
Centre exhaust box blows slightly. It's not massive and gives a little more bass to the exhaust note without being offensive. New box is circa £40.
MOT currently expires in March and is currently taxed but in line with the new rules, this is done by the new owner on purchase.
Windscreen a little milky at the lower corners. All area inside MOT requirements is 100% fine, nor are the areas visible when driving.
Front Shocks are a little tired, will want changing before the year is out.
Cash on collection.
Any questions, please do ask.
Cheers.
