Letting my Mk2 Golf go,
Originally my Granddad brought this car with intentions to tidy it up slightly and sell on as he's always playing about with cars, but I liked it a little bit too much and brought it off him him instead.
With a bit of T-cut and a general clean, Turns out it didn't need as much tidying up as we thought and its turned out to be a very clean car. I've used her as my daily for the last 4-5 months and its been perfect in every way. I've driven her on many over 200 Mile round trips and she's never caused me any problems as well as a couple of miles down the road to work 5 days a week. I'm really in two minds about letting her go, so want to see what kind of interest she attracts. Just turned 18 and having owned 2 Mk1 Golfs already, as well as recently buying another Mk1 project and having this Mk2 as a daily in just 7 months of driving, I thinks its fair to say I like Volkswagens.
She has been well kept when she's been in my possession and for how good she looks proves that the other owners must have cared for her too. My Granddad who is a big petrol head (He's owned everything you can think of, and worked on F1 cars too) gave the engine a bit of love when he first brought it, cleaned out the carb and tidied up loose wires ect. We also took out the carpet to check for any rust and couldn't find anything, but while we was at it decided to change the interior from another Mk2 Driver, Which to me is stunning! Although the headlining has dropped which is very common on Mk2's, it is being held up by pins applied by one of the previous owners, this to me has never been a problem though. On a cold night me and my granddad got bored and decided to refurb the wheel trims, which turned out amazing, the wheels however could do with a little refurb, but again these have never bothered me as I've never thought they've been too bad. To really top off her looks I think getting some back to black on the plastic trims would be a treat, I know I have got a bottle laying about in the shed so maybe its just lazyness on my half! But ill blame the cold weather! Baring in mind this car is over 25 years old, the paint on the roof is wearing thin and has some slight white patches. The drivers door has got couple of rust bubbles but nothing major at all. There is also another rust bubble forming just under the window screen too, as well this is common on both Mk1 golfs and Mk2s for some reason.
She is a 1.6 Mk2 Golf Driver 1989.
5 Door,
She comes with just over 9 months MOT.
92k on the clock, which will obviously rise as she's in daily use.
Id probably be looking for around £1200 firm.
TEXT me on 07402992492 if you need any more info, pictures ect. And ill be as helpful as I can.
This has been reduced for a quick sale due to picking up my new daily on Friday!
My neighbour reversed into me couple of days ago so the the drivers side rear corner does have a small dent in now, also hence low price. Being sold by Friday would be a dream, if not I'll get the small dent fixed myself as it's an easy job.
