In 2002 the vehicle was purchased by Leslie and Steve English, known very well as successful contenders in the sprint and hill climb competition series as ‘The English Brothers’. Work began at this time on the Mini to build the ultimate machine for competing in various events with the majority of the work carried out whilst competing throughout 2004-2007. A separate history file contains many print outs of sprint and hill climb events competed in by The English Brothers including the successes achieved in the car. In 2011 the car was purchased by renowned Patrick Mortimer, a champion in the Mini Cooper Challenge Series as a present for his wife who was a huge fan of the original Mini. She now races in the Modern Mini Cooper Challenge.
The colossal history file contains countless receipts and invoices throughout the build since 2002 to date.
