That's a great selection of stuff...what classes were racing? In the Classic Touring Car club there were: production BMW (318 and 320 E30s only), pre-1966, pre-1973, pre-1983, pre-1993, Classic Modified. But there were also a lot of other things there. A club level modern saloon selection, some big Ferraris, some Formula Ford type cars and some Can Am shaped things - small and cute and well engineered. I have been worried that my crappy Sierra is a bit too crappy and thought that everybody else would be highly professional. Luckily I thought wrong. There were BMWs with bits of dashboard cut out, wires hanging, bits missing, etc. But in the same class there were also £20-30k cars that were done really well. It was a very educational day. My first track day is 3 July at Brands Hatch. I hope the car holds together. Charlie

Your 914? Should be pretty straightforward. The rules are strict though - full cage, plumbed in fire extinguisher, FIA compliant seat, FIA compliant helmet and race suit, engine standard (ish), bodywork standard - limits on wheel and tyre size, must have original working windows, etc. There's a great Mazda RX7 series 1 that was running in both pre-93 and classic modified I think. www.classictouringcars.com - check the regs for the class you fancy racing in.
