Mk2 Golf TD. AAZ 1.9 diesel conversion. MOT june 2015 Ive decided to sell my MK2 Golf to help fund mu garage rebuild. I bought this a year ago from London, the previous owner did the conversion and its been done pretty well. The car has GTI brakes all round, GTI rear beam, New disc and pads front and rear. New centre caps for the ATS wheels. (not fitted) New coilover suspension. Modified fuel pump, (Ron Cheeseman) The car drives very well, with loads of power and low down torque. It has had loads spent on it, big pile of reciepts to go with it. Its very good on fuel and cruises easily. Theres no rust that I can see, but the body has had some paint in its life, (to be expected really). The sunroof doesnt leak and the car stays dry inside. A good clean straight golf with a sensible engine conversion which would make an awesome daily. £1500 ono. I can be contacted by PM on here or on 07470413611. Scott.

I've been in the market for something like this for a few months now and the price isn't far off what I would expect to pay to be honest.
If it was an early spec golf and you weren't 7.5 hours from me I would be over to view it this weekend!
If I can bring myself round to the idea of a big bumper and spending £130 on a train ticket, I'll be in touch.

Any more interest in this?
If anyone want to come and have a look it will have to be after the 14th (or maybe later if this weather keeps up!)

hi there. Was it an origional gti? Has it the 16v brake set up? What work is needed? What does it say on the v5? Is it down as a 1.3 or 1.8 gti?

It was a 1.6 ryder originally, still says 1.6 on the v5. It has gti front and rear brakes, new discs and pads.
It doesnt need any work at all and is ready to use. I don't use it as its winter and I have a mondeo estate which is more practical for me.

Hi Would you meet me at Glasgow or edinburagh airport with the car? I'm from Ireland. I think it's amazing that someone will come from another country, where they'll need to reregister the car and whatnot, and some people are like "Ermahgerd, Scotchland? Isn't that one million miles away?". I nearly cried when I found out where Fife was =( Try living there. It's well served by train from all over and Edinburgh airport is well served by the cheapo airlines. If you like the car (who wouldn't?) then go for it.

its no big deal going to uk to get a car and drive it back to Ireland. I'm over 20 years doing this. I'm selling a Subaru Legacy at the moment and a guy expressed interest in coming from the uk to have a look.. It's only £45 to fly from Stansted or manchester to shannon. 2 hour drive to ferry port and £80 will get the car back to Wales. I realy like the Tdi conversion on your golf. They will be very collectable I think in the future.

Thanks for all the comments guys!
Ive travelled as far as Spain for cars in the past, not everything worth having lands in your lap, I'm sure most on here would agree.
Puddiner, Id gladly collect you from the airport if needed but it wouldnt be in the Golf, I'm not insured to drive it at the mo and wouldnt take the risk.
The car is at my workshop which has a huge private carpark for test drives.
I'm away with work now and wont be back till after the 18th at the earliest.
Scott.

Cant actually remember the milage, Its around 80K though. The guy I bought the car from said the engine was about the same, fitted with an overhauled turbo at the time the conversion was done. Engine feels very strong and theres no rust on the shell.
