*sigh* All I had to get done this weekend was a few cans of red oxide onto the fastback, and to paint the door of the Mongdeo as explained in the bank holiday thread.
Colour code is '3', which is Juice Green. There's also a year marker of '4' which apparently means this colour was introduced in 1994 (and apparently NOT that this is the 1994 version of the colour). So I went off to my parts place and got some Juice Green, except that they explained it was code "3-5" in their book. Still Juice Green though. I ummed and aaahed and he said with Fords, the last digit often doesn't matter. So he relieved me of £15 for 400ml of pearl paint and I set about prepping.
Dodging the rain, finally got to put the top coat on today and it's a totally different flippin' colour! A good two shades darker. Of course since it was my decision to have it made, and that year marker is different, it's £15 wasted as I have no comeback. Not sure what I'm going to do now as this place is huuuge, and has books and books full of paint yet only one Juice Green which isn't right.
As such I'm really miffed now and haven't got the necessary mojo to go and paint the fastback. Ironic thing is I'm adding some of their red oxide to the Halfords stuff that's on half the panels, that that's a flipping perfect match without even trying to be.
