am tempted to put some flames on my car and give it that hotrod type look, ones from wheelarches and up bonnet, not these rubish tribal ones or cartoony ones but the realistic airbrushed looking kind, now I'm seeing this from a would look great point of view but as iv found before my taste can be either make or brake. please tell me what you think, heres my car type of decals

I've gone for the second option.

I voted to keep it as is but what I really mean is do these type instead: Or some ghost flames would look cool: I know you said no 'cartoony' ones but decal flames look a bit naff IMHO. Or these sort would look sweet:

I would agree with the scallops idea as well. Herald shape could carry those off quite well.

That looks like a straight car, why not just lower it and put some nice wheels on it? Just thinking from a resale point of view. But it's your car, do what you feel

I've gone for the don't do it option It certainly wouldn't ruin it,but its a great looking car as is. I'm with streetrules,on the wheels/lowering option

I don't think they would suit that car, it seems more of a cruiser than a bruiser.
Unless of course you add some polished deep slot mags, a blower sticking out the bonnet and some side pipes.

Lowered over red steels and whitewalls with some red and white pinstriping. (bad) flames. Scallops. ^In my opinion, neither of those treatments work well enough to justify the effort or expense of painting them - at least not if it's going on decent paintwork (which yours appears to be), if you were mucking about with rattle cans on a rusty old thing it'd be worth a go I suppose, but not on yours.

Its a no from me. I think Heralds are one of those cars that don't really carry off flames particularly well. There's too many body lines and creases on the sides.

^^^^ So do I, scallops might work but the Herald has so many swage lines it would be tough to get right. I'd be tempted to drop it over a set of 5 1/2" steels painted baby blue with smoothie hubcaps/whitewalls and some subtle pinstriping. At the end of the day, it's yours, do what thou wilt. But that's my £0.02.

I've voted to leave it as is. Yours looks lovely, I read the build up in Readers Rides and theres a lot of effort in that car. Wheels & lowering is all it needs really.

I say nay to the flames personally,it looks fine as it is. If you do wanna change though how about getting some rear fender skirts kustom made, add some lakes pipes and appleton spots, dual frenched antennas, tube grille, some chrome flipper hubcaps from Moon with red steels and whitewalls and a damn good slam I'd also lose the sunstrip personally.
