This has been quietly brewing for a while and can finally be announced as a big old pre-Christmas present for everyone.
Classic And Retro Time Attack 2015

Running across six rounds in parallel to the current Time Attack series the Classic & Retro Time Attack is a whole MSA sanctioned series in its own right.
It is open to all pre-1990 cars of any level of modification, the class structure is based on potential lap times, as the official statement says:
"When it comes to technical regulations, the championship has a very open policy on car eligibility and specifications, which means that pretty much anything goes. There’s no power-to-weight restrictions or any of the other constraints found in 'racing'. It’s a case of modifying a car to your requirements and then letting organisers allocate you into the appropriate class.
The classing structure is based on potential lap times – as that’s how Time Attack works. The lap time is king. The quicker the lap the further up the classes the competitor goes. Each driver/owner is able to discuss car specifications, previous lap times/potential lap times and targets, to work out using factual common sense, what class to start from to give safe and fair competition on the track."

31st May : Snetterton
21st June : Brands Hatch

EVEN MORE RETRO RIDES EXCITEMENT!
Each Time Attack round will have a show alongside it, the 31st May at Snetterton will play host to Retro Kings in association with Retro Rides, so we'll be having club stands, and utilising an unused section of the track for a bit of RWYB action as well as having all the usual Time Attack and Classic & Retro Time Attack stuff going on. Full details will be announced soon.
This has got to be the most cost effective track time/entry cost ratio of any motor sport with four x 15 or 20-minute sessions: Warm-up, Practice, Qualifying and the Final. Unless otherwise stated in the event regulations, all competitors will have the opportunity to contest all four sessions. Results are based on times set in the final session. We're really excited to be a part of this and I'm looking forward to what entrants we can find in the Retro Rides community as well as attending the events ourselves. We'll be running my Datsun Sunny (now with SR20DET) in the club level, would like to have come competition for you lot
