serious potential. need 14" rimmage for the win. I'd guess they're 114.3 pcd one needs to be done on these shores.

:)Front wheel drive. Fairly decent cars TBH, but devoid of much character as standard. Like many on here have said though EVERYTHING has potential. The early hatchback [IIRC Proton called them Aeroback] model is pretty rare now.

We had a 1.5 SE Aeroback when I was a lad - my old man bought it brand new after years of buying Toyota Corollas, as it was cheap & had all the toys the Corolla didnt (leccy windows, power steering, etc) Was a pleasant enough car, and went well enough for a 1.5.. As already mentioned though, typically average reliable-but-dull motoring, based on the older Mitsi Lancer.. Front wheel drive (although I'm wondering now if Lancer Evo running gear would be possible, for the sleeper look ) Was one of this shape (google isn't my friend tonight, couldn't find any decent pics!) At the right price, I'd have one for a laugh

are they relly called a Proton Saga?? The saloons are just called 1500s and the hatches Aerobacks. Certainly that's all they're badged as. There is potential there certainly, but who will be brave enough?!

The newer Impian, Wira and Persona are all 4x100 pcd, offset 35-38 and bore of 56.1. The 92-98 Mitsubishi Lancer, on which the older 1500's etc were based are also the same. Hope this helps.

There's one on Autotrader not far from me going very cheap if anyone's interested. I'm tempted myself! 1992 PROTON GL 1.3 GL Price: £165 ono. MOT until January 2008. Taxed until end May. Recent cam belt. Good tyres. Towbar. Cassette stereo. 161000 miles. Bodywork as expected for the age and mileage of the car, with slight damage to the off-side front wing and bumper (see photos). The car has been very well maintained mechanically, starts first time every time and never breaks down (hence 161000 miles covered). A great cheap run around / workhorse. ^^^ Liking that photoshop! The shape isn't too bad at all, lends itself quite well to J-style mods, or even a Euro approach.

The Compact is the car to have in road rallying at the moment. £400 buys you new suspension off a Mitsubishi Evo 6/7/8. Bolt it on and go and play.
