I'm rapidly running out of space so decided to advertise a few cars to free up space and much needed cash. This however, requires a fair whack of cash just to get the cars in question into a decent condition.
I managed to get the Lancia 8.32 running to a fair level but first thing it needs is a new cambelt and huge service. Not to mention a damn good valet. Ten years back it was towed in by the AA whilst my business partner was driving it and told it was 'unrepairable' and so just parked up. Since he has little or no knowledge of mechanical issues and the fact he neglected to tell me what the AA guy said, I just got in and after doing some normal pre-start work, fired it up. Seems fine to me.
The Citroen XM estate is curse word petrol all over the place through pipes in the engine bay, the Porsche 944 is doing the same from underneath where both fuel lines are rotten, I need to replace a screen in the E28 525E, the dizzy cap in the 528 and the rad in the M535.
The 914 has a few small holes in the chassis and a crappy repair job to the rear floor that could do with addressing. The Audi Coupe 16V was fine till I reversed it into a Freelander and I need to do a few paint repairs to the E36 B3 3.2 where, as usual on MBW Blue paint, the clearcoat has lifted. Caddy STS needs an MOT (as does everything else) only, Saab 900 Turbo needs a head gasket after me chasing a quick Audi down the dual carriageway and I'm still struggling to find out what is causing fuel starvation issues on the Mercedes 2.3 16V.
I reckon I have enough work to see me though till April with this lot, if not more.
But first things first....the Lancia. I valued it a while back at £6800 but in reality that was when there were a few of them about. They are far and few between now and I reckon I may have undervalued it badly.
