What's good now? Nitromoors used to be good but it's all tame and no good now. So what works? Don't need too much just enough to clean seams before welding? Also seam sealer, how to get it off?

TBH all paint stripper is now rubbish thanks to the good 'ol EU. Angle grinder with wirebrush wheel is best for removing paint now in my opinion. To remove seamsealer I warm it with a hot air gun and scrape off with a paint scraper. Quite a laborious task.

You can still get paint stripper with all the old ingredients that work but its labeled for industrial use only and to buy it you need to prove you are using it in a work enviroment and what you are using it for. I know this because I work at a slavage yard so we can order it. I use paramose and its good strong stuff. If you know someone that has a business you could try and order it through them or pop along to a local small salvage, metal works, restoration etc... place and ask if they have anything and if you could buy a little.

I needed some strong paint stripper to remove the original layer from the alloy on a Land Rover. The only stuff that would touch it was aviation grade stripped and horrendously expensive. I went to local auto pain factors and they sold me 5 litres of some "under the counter" stuff that was the strongest you could buy and not normally sold for DIY. Even that struggled with LR paint and had to be abraded off with nylon brush on angle grinder
