The time has come to admit that I need to sell my enormous V8 yank van. We're moving to France in a few weeks and I just can't justify the cost of taking this with me. I've owned this for about 4 years, but only ever driven it about 100 miles. I MOT'd it when I first bought it and it passed first time without advisories. It's been parked inside since
It's an American import Ford Econoline E150 XL. Fitted with the Ford 'small' Block 351 Windsor engine and C6 Automatic transmission.
The engine has had a new waterpump, top and bottom hoses, belts and harmonic balancer. It's running a Holley carb and apparently has an inlet manifold from a mustang. All of the nasty US Smog control stuff had been removed in the past. The engine runs very nicely, but could probably do with a fresh set of plugs and a minor tune up. I've never got around to doing this, so the service items are probably a bit old.
Transmission seems to shift perfectly well. I think it needs some new Universal Joints in the Propshaft, But I can include the 3 new UJ's which I imported from America. They're the best available (MOOG).
The front Brake calipers are new, never been used at all, just fitted and forgotten. They just need bleeding through. The rears are just drums which function fine. I had them apart a while ago and greased them up.
The wheels are 6 spoke 16 inch alloys, fitted with General Grabber UHP tyres. They've done about 100 miles! They tyres alone cost me £300.
Bodywork is generally very good, with the exception of the rear doors which are suffering a bit at the bottom and the side doors, although these are not that bad at all. I'd class the all as repairable.
The interior is completely stripped back as it was fitted with a hideous amount of velour. It's currently sporting a pair of BMW M3 Convertible leather sports seats.
Comes with Electric windows, Central Locking, Aircon (although this will need at least a regas). Towbar, Rear Ladder and a Wind out awning with sides and poles.
It's an awesome base for a camper or just a dayvan. There's a massive amount of space inside. I wouldn't see any problems with the MOT, but I just haven't got the time to play at the moment .
I'm sorry about the pictures, It's a bit difficult to get at as I share the storage with a woodwork guy and he's penned it in a bit.
I owes me the best part of £2k now, but I'm looking for £1500.
