Hi All
I have some rust coming though in various places on the Magnum, the worse being where the bulkhead joins the scuttle. Am I right in thinking as it hasn't holed yet I can take it back to bare metal as best as I can (it's an awkward join), stick some POR15 or similar and that'll be it sorted until it gets repainted?
Cheers Nick

I've had it on my land rover chassis for a while and just painted the scimitar chassis in it. Prep is key (like everything). If it's rusty just brush or knot wheel the loose stuff off then slap it on. It's shiney metal you need to do the work with. Frosts do a pack with 3/4 (can't rmember) small tins rather that one bigger one, i'd recommend that. If you let the lid get painted shut you'll really strugged to get it off and the air makes it set like a rock. It's great stuff . Just don't get it on your hands. Oh and it'll eat through some plastic containers, so be careful what you put it in when you're painting. Water cups arn't good.

Loads of people I know absolutely love it. I tried some and despite following all the directions found it to peal off and not give any protection. I use the Wilko own brand paint now which is spirit based. Underneath I use a coat of Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80 and/or some red oxide primer - depends on my mood and the area it's in. I've found that to give the best protection.
Also, if you do buy it put cling film under the lid when you put it back on. I didn't after using half a can and ended up with a rather effective door stop.

i also found it likes to peel off and is very expensive /hard to store etc
have a look at epoxy primers , stuff like jotun jotamastic can be had for cheap on ebay , you only mix what you need to so the tin will keep in the shed for ages , its tough as boots and sticks well
