For sale is an excellent example of Volvo's 340 model. It has been garaged for approximately 3 years and has now been serviced, fitted with a new battery and passed an MOT test. This red, 3 door manual model has only had 3 owners and benefits from being a non sunroof model and having heated seats. These don't currently appear to work but neither does the cars stereo so most likely a blown fuse. I will check this if I get a chance in the next few days. The car also appears to have had a new water pump and an alternator replacement at some point in the last few years.
Although the car passed it's MOT there were a few minor advisories for rear tyres and a corroded back-box. The car itself is rust free apart from the pictured area on the bonnet. The sills, arches (not even a bubble), front valance, chassis, floor pans etc are all in excellent rust free condition. The car also has a really clean interior and it runs and drives spot on. The heating works really well, the radiator fan cuts in and out as it should, the gearbox is nice and tight, the brakes are fine, the engine is quiet and responsive and the car drives as straight as an arrow. It really is a pleasure to drive.
I'm currently awaiting a replacement starter motor which should be here around the 9th or 10th of December. The current one is very intermittent. I've already removed it once to order the replacement one (faulty one currently still fitted to the car) and check the condition of the ring gear, which I'm pleased to report, is mint! I will fit the new starter or supply it to the buyer depending on how soon the car sells. I had the old one out and back in in around 20 minutes, there is plenty of space to work around it. Another thing to note is that the clutch pedal seems a bit high, but the car is priced accordingly and if a replacement is eventually required they are very cheap to source and easy to replace. There are currently a few kits listed on eBay for £39.99 (item number: 400811893994).
I taxed the car for 6 months today with the reference number from the green slip as a new keeper (no details of mine were entered) after the MOT. I have yet to send the logbook off in my name. I bought the car from a friend who had sent off the yellow slip in his name, so if you put todays date (06/12/2014) as the date of transfer to new keeper when we fill in the main part of the logbook, the 6 months tax will stay with the vehicle!
Basically, shes ready to go!
