Here's something that may be of interest, and most likely likely to cause some WTF.
Looks pretty innocuous so far, huh?
An ancient COToW in pretty boggo form.
But wait! What is this!!
WTF O RLY!!?!!1!??
So here's what the chap has done...
he has taken a bone-stock Series 1 Land Rover, binned the 1600cc 1940's lump and put in a Series 3 2286 petrol lump along with the axles & brakes from a S3 LWB (bigger brakes see).
Then he's gone a bit bonkers and strapped that RR favourite, an Eaton 'charger from a Bini onto it. Naughty!
OK, so the stats aren't 'great'... with the charger on it it poots out 113bhp. Hardly setting the world on fire. But that is a big dollop more than the 77bhp from the stock '70s LR lump and whoopass compared to the 1600 it originally had to punt it along.
Add to that 'classic' LR driving virtues (i.e bone-shaking ride, vague steering, wooly brakes) and a shell in it's puerst (i.e. lightest) form, and that 113bhp is going to be pretty entertaining. Especially with no seat belts, and a steering column itching to impale itself in your chest. BALLS OF STEEL. RESTECP.
DISCUSS.
