Hi all I bought the pick up off a good friend of mine. Its a 1987 vintage and was originally bought by two brothers who own a farm in Cumbria. It's been used for farm duties and carrying live stock for the majority of its life. My mate purchased it from the two brother approximately three years ago, it had been stood for a couple of years. It needed a little bit of welding for the M.O.T and has been in active service since. The paint work was very dull and being an ex-farm truck the body is quite dented in places. I drove it back the 100 miles from Cumbria with no issues at all, though it is a little thirsty on petrol. Plan is to keep it as a rolling project, firstly giving it a good clean inside and out. Then run it until next summer and then address any welding/bodywork it may need. From what I've found in the couple of weeks of ownership is that parts are very thin on the ground, so I can't see this being a full on restro, just tidy it up, and use it A couple of pics from when I got it.

That's very cool, when I first learned to drive a friend drove a blue one that belonged to her parents farm, not so many about nowadays.

This is almost identical to mine, although in much better condition. These are brilliant, although I have had some difficulties getting rear brake parts. Good luck.

Yep parts seem to be mega hard to find which surprises me for a 80s/90s car, I have better luck sourcing parts for my 1972 Hillman Avenger Tiger, just wish I'd done my research before buying it!!
Plan is just to clean it up, get some new tyres and hopefully run it for a while as is until next summer then I'll decide what to do.

I've given the pick up its first polish, probably the first one in 27 years. Just did half of the roof at first The following day I did the drivers side and bonnet Also treated the bumpers with an Autoglym gel Bonnet polished Being a farm truck it was bit dirty inside so I removed the centre console seats and floor coverings to wash them. Then I found this in the drivers foot well corner, the first of the welding jobs for next year. Polished the passenger side While the seats were out I gave them a clean with 1001 carpet/fabric shampoo, they cleaned up not to bad, but I couldn't remove the black bits from the drivers seat, looks like tar or underseal. I've still got to re assemble the interior and polish the tail gate, then I'll look into having the wheels repainted. I'll update again when I've got some more pics.

Hi chaps thanks for the positive comments, buffing it up to make it more presentable is all I can do with it at the moment. Yes it's got loads of dents which I think adds to its character, but the paint work has come up quite well, you wouldn't believe how dull and matt looking it was before, now its silky smooth with an acceptable shine which should see it right till next spring, its a curse word having to work out side and been governed by the weather.
The iFor Williams canopy will stop on over winter, but like many I prefer the look of the pick up with out it.
